Artist Statement
Pamela Couch works mainly with oils. Her subjects exist in the natural world with an emphasis on close-ups. The abstract shapes formed from light have been her main emphasis in the past year. In her paintings, she strives to illuminate the texture and clarity of the subject and magnify the effect of light and shadow on the color of the subject. She has found that painting is a continual learning process requiring keen observation of the subject matter.
